October 7, 2021 – Today, Thursday, October 7, 2021, JCF officer, Constable Richard Plummer was placed before the St. Ann Parish Court, by way of summons, to answer to charges of Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm. These charges were as a result of an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

Constable Plummer was charged in relation to the assault of a taxi operator which occurred in the vicinity of the St. Ann’s Bay Police Station on July 18, 2017. It was reported that the complainant was struck, by the police officer, and taken into police custody without receiving medical attention. The complainant was subsequently diagnosed with a broken jawbone.

A mention date has been set for November 25, 2021 for Constable Plummer to settle his legal representation.
