February 8, 2023 – Today, February 8, 2023, JCF officer, Constable Marlon Morris was placed before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court, by way of summons, to answer to the charge of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. This charge was as a result of an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

Constable Morris was charged in relation to the assault of a man which occurred at the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre on June 10, 2022. It was reported that there was a physical altercation between Constable Morris and the complainant during a search, which resulted in the complainant sustaining several fractures to his jaw bone and broken teeth.

Constable Morris was offered bail in the sum of $100,000.00 with surety and reporting conditions. Constable Morris was further ordered not to interfere with the witness.

All concerned parties were bound over and will return to court on April 6, 2023.
