April 27, 2022 – On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, JCF officer, Constable Christopher Henry was placed before the Westmoreland Parish Court, by way of summons, to answer to charges of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. These charges were as a result of the investigations and recommendation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

Constable Henry was charged in relation to the assault of a male at a house in Grange Hill, Westmoreland during a police operation on June 28, 2016.

The ruling of the ODPP stated that the injuries observed on the medical certificate, which was dated the day of the alleged incident, are unaccounted for by the uneventful operation described by the officers. The issues of credibility which arise, would best be resolved by a tribunal of fact.

Constable Henry was bound over by the Court. The trial date has been set for May 16, 2022.
