December 10, 2018 – Investigators from The Independent Commission of Investigations’ (INDECOM’s) South Eastern team responded to the incident scene at the Islington Police Station yesterday (December 9) to begin investigations into the fatal shooting of 62 year old, Dawnett Maxwell and suicide of District Constable Toyan Ormsby.

It is alleged that Ms. Maxwell was engaged in a discussion with the District Constable at the front of the police station, when explosions were heard and the two bodies discovered with gunshot wounds.

Officers who were on duty at the time of the incident have given initial accounts and were served with notices to furnish statements. The bodies of the deceased were processed, sealed and are pending post-mortem examinations. The District Constable’s JCF glock pistol was recovered, processed, boxed and sealed for ballistics testing.
