September 6, 2018 – The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has commenced an investigation into the fatal shooting of Navardo Ford, on Thursday, September 8, 2018 at Bucks Common, May Pen, Clarendon.

INDECOM’s Central Regional office responded to the incident.  The concerned officer gave an initial account and was served with a notice to furnish a statement next week. A licensed firearm was reported as being recovered from the deceased.

It is reported that an off duty officer discharged his service pistol at a man who was allegedly assaulting the female companion that he (the officer) was accompanying. INDECOM’s investigation will seek to determine the accuracy of the account given.
