November 9, 2017 – Two incidents in St. Mary and St. James which resulted in the death of four civilians are now the subjects of investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).

An INDECOM team is still on the scene of the incident that occurred in Salt Spring, Montego Bay, St. James at approximately 5:04 a.m. (November 9). The incident was the culmination of a planned police operation by the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Mobile Reserve Division. The three (3) civilians killed remain unidentified. Two fire arms were reported as recovered by the police.

The other incident which occurred in St. Mary at approximately 11 p.m. on November 8 resulted in the death of a man identified as Ramando Brown. Reports from the police are that there was a confrontation with the deceased who reportedly attacked a police officer with a knife.

The incident scene and the body of the deceased was processed by a team of investigators and forensic examiners from INDECOM.
