February 14, 2022 – The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Yanique Taylor Wellington, as the new Director of Complaints (DOC) for the South Eastern Region. Mrs. Taylor Wellington officially assumed duties on January 31, 2022.

Mrs. Taylor Wellington will lead the Investigative Team with responsibility for St. Catherine, St. Mary and sections of St. Ann.

An Attorney-at-Law, Mrs. Taylor Wellington ascended to the post of Senior Legal Officer during her previous stint at INDECOM. Notably, she served as Counsel for INDECOM during the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry in 2015 and prepared and argued at the recently concluded case, Dave Lewin v Albert Diah at The Privy Council. She held the position of Senior Prosecutor at the Integrity Commission, before her appointment as Director of Complaints.

Commissioner of INDECOM, Hugh Faulkner welcomed Mrs. Taylor Wellington on her return to the Commission, albeit in a new capacity and noted the expertise that she will bring to her team. “DOC Taylor Wellington will undoubtedly avail to her Investigative Team a wealth of knowledge and guidance regarding the investigative tenets and principles required for a viable prosecution”.
