February 4, 2021 – On February 2, 2021, Constable Faybian Durrant was charged in relation to an incident of assault of two men, committed on July 28, 2018 at Belmont District, Lawrence Tavern, St. Andrew.

In one matter, Constable Durrant was charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was further charged with illegal possession of firearm, assault at common law and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. These charges were as a result of an investigation by The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

Constable Durrant appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court and was offered bail in the sum of $400,000.00 with 1-2 sureties and reporting conditions. The matter was adjourned for mention on Monday, March 8, 2021.
