December 23, 2016 – The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) wishes to advise the public, that all murder cases involving members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in the Commission’s Clarendon investigations, have now been transferred to the Circuit Court.
Three members, Detective Corporal Kevin Adams, former Constable Witney Hutchinson and Constable Pete Samuels appeared in the Kingston & St. Andrew Parish Court yesterday, December 22. Prosecuting Counsel informed the Parish Judge, Mrs. Henry-McKenzie that her case was closed and the Parish Judge ruled that a prima facie case exists.
Hutchinson was granted bail in the sum of $700,000.00 with 1-2 sureties. Samuels was granted bail in the sum of $1.5 million with 1-2 sureties. Adams was remanded in custody.
The matter was committed to the Circuit Court commencing on January 9, 2017.
Hutchinson, Samuels and Adams are charged with the fatal shooting of Sylvester Gallimore on May 5, 2011 at Havana Heights in Clarendon.
Matters involving Det. Corporal Kevin Adams, Constable Carl Bucknor, Special Constable Shannon Ceon Allen, Special Constable Mario Taylor, and District Constable Howard Brown were transferred to the Circuit Court on December 14, 2016. Matters involving Det. Corporal Adams and Cons. Jerome Whyte were transferred on March 11, 2015. While matters involving Constables Collis Brown and Roan Morrison were transferred on June 23, 2014.
